Course description:
On completion of the course the trainee will be recommended for QTS (Qualified Teacher Status). Phase 1 topics: auditing subject knowledge, literacy, numeracy and information communication technology; phases 2 and 4 topics: subject element: knowledge and understanding of the specialist subject; practical approaches to teaching it; on special issues related to it; generic element: planning; classroom management; monitoring; assessment; recording and reporting; inclusion; information communication technology; current developments and legal, professional and ethical considerations; phases 3 and 5: block placements; phase 6: teaching and research placement.
Entry requirements:
2.2 degree; GCSE at grade C or above (or equivalent) in mathematics, English language and a science; minimum of 5 days school experience in a mainstream primary school within the last 2 years before submitting application; interview is mandatory.
