Change is a part of life and everyone needs to adjust to it. It was similar with me. I accepted it as a challenge and now that I took it positively it is working well for me. I think the idea of meeting people of all races could not have been achieved in my own country, the importance we get as students was not the same in my country. The famous personal tutor system has been of great help as it helps in achieving a higher grade and lets one know where we can improve overall. The part that would need improvement is the availability of food around the campus. Cardiff being a small town has only one city centre, which is a good 20 minutes walk from the university, so everytime one needs food for that matter that long a distance pinches. I would like to add one piece of advice for students coming from far off that they should never keep the option of giving up in mind and never look back. It is a huge decision and once taken should be kept up to.
It was very easy to get admission thanks to UCAS, it was like a conditional offer that I received before I got my result, which got unconditional after the grades were achieved. I went through the Chopra Consultants for it so it was swift enough. Visa was not painful as I went through the vfs lounge, it came within 5 days; just that one needs to have all the documents intact and the bank statement upto date. The travel experience was good thanks to the edu jetter thing, which allowed extra luggage.
My course is really vast, considering that I aim to become a scientist. It asks for a lot of hard work, which is fair enough. I think I have 30 hours lecture excluding practicals. My course is a value for money for sure. The new students should just be good with time management as basically that's the skill tested in every field. The course is good enough, the staff is cooperative and helpful and is always willing to teach and give more and more information.
The students union is really good in fact that where we have all our parties usually, a lot of events are organized. Since it is an open campus thing so the buildings are scattered. I like that because all the science people are segregated so it is easier to relate. Student life is fun and I live in a private accommodation VICTORIA HALLS, whch is their in almost every part of the UK, its good and I like the idea of the emphasis of cleaning that they put in. We have regular inspections for the same.
I'm still in year one, so I cannot say anything about this.
